Beyonce steps away from her previous image

Beyonce’s newest album “Lemonade” has definitely made rumors about Jay Z’s affair seem more real than ever. No matter the circumstance for the album’s production, its content still leaves Beyonce as the Queen Bee. Her music holds emotion and beauty that the audience can feel as they listen. Of course, “Lemonade” takes a slightly different approach from her other albums. In this album, she brings in her African American culture as well as the pain she has experienced recently. People might even say there were no limits or boundaries to her lyrics.

Despite the unapologetic feel of her album, Beyonce’s emotions fully show themselves. Seeming to be one of the most memorable songs on the album, “Sandcastles” shows the unedited pain Jay Z’s infidelities has caused her. In the song she incorporates imagery of dishes breaking on the counter, but her true pain shows the second her voice breaks.

Overall the album was beautifully crafted and well carried out. Beyonce seemed to sacrifice herself in the face of African Americans and women in general. The album may seem like an ode to Black Lives Matter, but it simply screams “Fight for what you believe”.

The album is currently only available on iTunes for $17.99.
