Black Friday Tips
November 18, 2016
Black Friday approaching. This is the day when America goes crazy buying some product for a stupidly low price at almost any major retailer. Black Friday is also notorious for the mass stampede that are willing to kill each other just to be at the front of the line of a store six hours before it opens. So that Black Friday is not as strenuous as some make it out to be, here are some helpful tips.
- Don’t Just Save the Date, Save Money
An important tip for Black Friday is to save for it. Yes, it is good that the prices are low, but it would be smart if there was more money available for those awesome items. So to put it simply, more money allows more stuff and lower prices allows more stuff.
- Instead of Staying in Line, Stay Home
Another tip to avoid the crowds is to just stay home. “But I am going to miss all of the sales!” you might be thinking. Not necessarily, a lot of stores have sales online too. Plus, some stores are willing to sell their products during the night of Thanksgiving. So, theoretically, people could be having their seconds while sale searching.
- Coupons are Always Helpful
Something helpful to remember is the existence of coupons. Because of the way we live today, coupons are probably not as accessible as they used to be. But luckily there is always printable coupons, so search to your heart’s content.
- Remember the Return Policy
It would suck if someone bought something, found out that the product they purchased did not work and could not return it. Be sure to check the return policy of what has a deceivingly low price. Most stores will be happy to accept a return as long as the customer has the receipt. But some stores do not have such simple processes, so always check.
- Bring a Boredom Buster
In the likely case of standing in line either to get something off the shelf or to buy the item, one would eventually get bored in a matter of minutes. Bring a book or something to pass the time. Play a handheld game while waiting in Gamestop. Also, it would be a good idea to bring a snack or two. Afterall, it is the day after Thanksgiving.
- Get Ahead of the Game
Staying in line a week before Black Friday is not the only way to make sure you are early. There are a lot of retail and online stores that actually set up their sales up to two weeks before Black Friday. Online stores like Amazon have their sales up on the website in October.
- Be Social
A lot of retailers have Facebook pages and Twitter accounts. Also, a lot of people have Facebook pages and Twitter accounts. Put two and two together. Follow stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, JCPenney or basically any store that will update on sales.
Hopefully these tips will be helpful to the people that normally get trampled on in the past Black Fridays. Good luck to everyone that hopes for high quality items for low prices.
