Welcome to Uncle Maddio’s. As you walk through the door you are greeted by the pleasant smiles of the hardworking staff. They are similar to Pieology, their main competitor, but you trade the extra topping you would get at Pieology for better service at Uncle Maddio’s. It’s a great experience every time you walk through the door of Uncle Maddio’s, but that experience does not last very long thanks to the quick service. We got in and got out in under ten minutes, very good timing for a pizza place.

The price is much higher than at most places, A nine inch pizza costs $8.99 alone, but if you are looking for a treat it is worth the cost. When you bite into a slice of Uncle Maddio’s pizza, you feel like you are eating a real New York-style pizza.

There are a few minor problems with Uncle Maddio’s, however. For one, the lids on the cups are the bane of my existence. It takes a good deal of pressure to make the lid snap on right, which can leave you standing awkwardly at the soda machine trying to put the lid on.

The portion sizes are also a bit small for the price, and you only get four toppings per pizza unless you want to pay extra.

My overall experience was nice. I rate Uncle Maddio’s as a four out of five, so if you are ever in Madison and looking for a fast, quality pizza, stop by Uncle Maddio’s.
