Whatever You Fear the Most
April 18, 2017
Three words that can strike fear into numerous adults that grew up in the 90’s. The movie adaptation of Stephen King’s IT first came out in two Episodes in 1990 and created cases of coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) across the world. Now, after all this time, Warner Bros. has decided it was time to remake the infamous classic. A new generation of people will know the wrath and fear-inducing atmosphere that is Pennywise The Clown.
The original IT followed the investigation of a group of friends into the recurrent and unexplained disappearances plaguing their town in Maine. Avoiding spoilers for anyone that has not seen the now 27 year old movie and possibly the remake, not too much can be revealed but basically there is an evil clown that needs to be stopped. This remake coming after the 2016 “Scary Clown” epidemic just so happened to work out in unintentionally creating hype for this movie.
Recently, the trailer was released for everyone to view after a few teases. The trailer followed the original one from 1990 with minor changes. The biggest of all being the overhaul of Pennywise the Clown. His new image is much more sinister and fear-inducing. He went from being a creepy clown to being some horrid creature whom also just so happens to be a clown. Special effects have improved enormously since the 1990’s and IT is expected to take full advantage of this.
From seeing just the trailer, I can assure you that IT will scare you, IT will haunt your dreams and IT is whatever you fear most.
