English Singer, PinkPantheress, Releases Album

Artist Takes Viral Hits To Make Perfect Album

When it comes to talking about the current state of music, you can’t ignore PinkPantheress. Her songs are everywhere, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, you name it. Even if you don’t know the name of the song, you’ve heard it.

PinkPantheress has definitely left an impact on the current music industry, when you open TikTok almost every song you hear is loosely based off of Pink’s music style which I personally don’t mind as I thoroughly enjoy the genres she infuses into her music.

Pink came on to the scene in late 2020 early 2021 when she was just a college student creating songs on her phone through the app garage band. She was releasing her singles onto Soundcloud and received little to no attention until she posted them to her Tik Tok. The songs soon went viral and launched her career. In October she released her debut mixtape ‘To Hell With It’ and the rest is history.

The English singer-songwriter released her debut studio album “Heaven Knows” on November 10, 2023. This album includes the hit song Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2 featuring Ice Spice that absolutely blew up. Personally this album was a great full length debut and every song is worth listening to.

Starting off the album strong, ‘Another Life’ featuring Nigerian rapper Rema is banger in my book. The album as a whole focuses on all types and phases of love and this song explores the feeling of loosing a loved one. Starting the song with organs grabs my attention right away with the slightly spooky aura they create. The Rema feature adds a nice vocal break and transitions back to Pinks soft vocals perfectly. The choice of ending the song with a generous electric keyboard break only makes me want more but leaves me satisfied as well.

The albums sub-topic along with love is dealing with fame and the songs ‘Mosquito’ and ‘Internet Baby’ touch on that in different ways. ‘Mosquito’s lyrics discuss Pinks self thoughts on becoming a seemingly overnight success and the money it has given her along with feeling as though the only thing she has private to her is her lover. On the contrary, “Internet Baby’s lyrics talk about the parasocial relationship some fans of hers have developed.

Three songs out of the 12 song album received music videos, those being ‘Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2’, ‘Nice to Meet You’ featuring Central Cee and Mosquito, the lead singles from the album. I think choosing those as the lead singles was a great choice as they all have a different sound that shows the versatility of Pinkpantheress artistry.

The rest of the songs on the album fit the theme of love and fame nicely but I’m not going to go into detail as I have covered many of my favorites. Overall this album is a solid 9 out of 10 and if it wasn’t for prom I would be attending her concert in Nashville.
