Huntsville Growth

Over the past few years, Huntsville has grown bigger and bigger, adding new buildings, houses and apartments. It is now the largest city in Alabama, passing Birmingham and Montgomery with a growth rate of 2.6%. It is estimated that around 230,000 people now live in Huntsville. In 2024, around 13,600 people joined the Huntsville area.

Huntsville’s growing population is due to new buildings and jobs opening up, like aerospace, tech and defense centers. Hunsville, compared to other big cities, has more affordable living, and there are constantly new apartments and houses being built to keep up with the growth.

Along with the people have come many different restaurants and businesses. New coffee shops like 7brew and Dutch Bros have been added and are very popular. Outdated fast food restaurants are getting remodeled to better fit the growing community. Mid-city has become very popular as well. They have included apartments, little stores to walk around and charging stations for Teslas.

There are so many things to do in Huntsville, like Top Golf, walking around Bridge Street, walking around Parkway Place Mall, visiting the Space and Rocket Center, looking around the Botanical Gardens, walking around Big Spring Park, playing games at arcades and going skating at roller skating rinks. Huntsville has an abundance of things to do indoors and outdoors.

Huntsville has grown a lot, but is still growing. There are many things to do and visit, whether you are here on vacation or live in the area. They have included stuff for everyone to enjoy and still plan on bringing more.
