Just weeks after the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s release back in August, reports of exploding phones were heard from around the world in several countries.

This devastating blow to Samsung’s reputation could cost the company $10 billion. Within the last few months since the release of the Galaxy Note 7, 2.5 million phones have been recalled.

It turns out that Samsung partnered with two seperate battery makers whos names they will not release to the general public, to create batteries fot the phones to different countries around the world.Samsung has always boasted about their new flagship smartphone and its new lithium-ion battery, but it turns out that this is the culprit for causing  the smartphones to burst into flames. After the first shipment was recalled Samsung and many of the phone carriers which it had distributed the smartphones to, began to offer replacement products free of charge.

Buyers are being advised to not  charge their phones and to stop using them immediately. Two major  phone carriers including T-mobile and At&T have decided to stop selling the Galaxy Note 7 all together after there were reports of the second shipment bursting into flames. Meanwhile Samsung has halted production of the Galaxy Note 7 and is looking into the Galaxy Note 8 which will be released sometime next year.
