Nearly 80,000 friends and family are once again taking to the sunny beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama this summer. On May 15-17, Hangout Music Fest 2015 will be in full swing, shaking up the South with dozens of artists and thousands of people looking for a fun weekend by the water.
A.J. Niland and Shaul Zislin founded Hangout Music Fest in 2010, partnering with Huka Entertainment to create a fun, Bonnaroo-like party for all lovers of music. Notable acts from past years have included Jack White, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band, Tom Petty and The Black Keys. The festival is filled with a wide range of music styles, including hip hop, pop, rock, indie and electronic-dance music.
Headlining this year’s festival includes Foo Fighters, Beck and—a southern favorite—Zac Brown Band. Other well-known artists who will make appearances are Skrillex, Foster the People, Lupe Fiasco, Krewella and Mary Lambert.
With so many new “up and coming” artists taking the stage this summer, Hangout fans are in for a fresh experience when they hit the beaches this May. While some are worried the sounds won’t be as recognizable as in previous lineups, the three-day concert festival is sure to impress.
With the party only about three months away, Hangout fans are already preparing their Camelbaks and sunscreen for the long weekend away. All types of admission tickets—including VIP passes—are being snatched up fast, so be sure to save a seat for the coolest party in southern Alabama.
The festival is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is only for adults over 18 years old. Children under 18 years old are allowed at the festival as long as they are being supervised by an adult. The party is an alcohol-free zone and strongly encourages Hangout fans to keep the beautiful Alabama beaches clean.
