Yet Another College Expense

There are so many options out there for computing devices that listing them all here would simply be an enormous waste of all of our very important time. In order to simplify this debate, a windows ultrabook for macbook are our only options as they are the only ones that have the most function in our current technological society.

Personally, there are only two major qualifiers for the argument of the best laptop for college, and these are the Lenovo Yoga ($1499.99 version) and the Macbook Pro 13-Inch ($1499.00 version). Both laptops have truly redeeming qualities and are extremely popular among consumers, but when you break down the price for the hardware specifications you receive the superior laptop becomes obvious.

Both laptops are extremely portable and lightweight which is recurring among ultrabooks these days. The Yoga boasts a 360 degree watchband hinge allowing for a tablet mode as well as normal laptop function, and this of course does come with a multi-point touchscreen. The Macbook Pro has a intuitive touch-bar replacing many of the function keys of the keyboard. The Macbook Pro is also passively cooled, which means no fans and no fan noise while the Yoga is relying on such archaic ways of cooling its components.

The deciding factor here is price for performance, and the Lenovo Yoga 910 wins hands down. Faster processor (2.7 ghz vs. 2.0 ghz), better display resolution (3840×2160 vs. 2560×1600), more ram (16gb vs. 8gb), and more storage (512gb ssd vs. 256gb ssd). The Macbook Pro can be customized after the model is selected but we are solely basing all specs. from the base ~$!500 model of both laptops. The Yoga wins in both price for function as well as better versatility in its use.
