Spirit Week

Spirit Week is a time when everyone can show appreciation for the school. We celebrate this through themes for each school day.

This year we have Mathlete vs. Athlete Monday, Adam Sandler Tuesday, Wild West Wednesday, Teacher Student Swap Thursday and Color Wars Friday. Seeing how creative students and teachers can be for each day is fun. A good example was last year’s Spirit Week theme No Backpacks Day. Some students brought a trash can, a wheel barrel, tiny cars and many more out-of-the-box ideas. That was my favorite theme that week, so I’m excited to see what else our Senators can create.

Spirit Week isn’t just about themes for the students, but the school as a whole. School is a place where students can learn education and learn about themselves, but some students don’t have a desire for that. Along with this are the negativity and unpleasant events occurring throughout the school. It makes it hard for students to think of a positive reason for going. So it’s good to have a week of school fun every year for everyone to remember.

With Spirit Week comes the homecoming dance. This year the theme is Met Gala: Fashion Forward. Homecoming is one of the most memorable moments in high school. People have fun dressing up, dancing, talking, and making memories with friends and romantic partners. Spirit Week is a time to make memories for yourself and others, so enjoy it, Senators.
