All stars show off their skills in NBA game
February 23, 2016
On Feb. 14 inside the Air Canada center, was the most exciting time of year for most NBA allstars. With the starting lineup being decided by fans so that the best of the best will be up against one another.
This year the western conference won 196 -173 over the eastern conference. The west being coached by Gregg Popovich head coach of the San Antonio Spurs and the east being coached by Grammy award winning rapper from Toronto Canada Drake. With Russell Westbrook from Oklahoma City Thunder pouring in 31 points for the west. Taking home the mvp trophy.
It was some NBA stars first ever all star game like NBA allstar Draymond Green from the Golden State warriors and for some like Kobe Bryant it was his last.
The dunk contest is the biggest event throughout the weekend. This contest has made history this year with Aaron Gordon from Orlando Magic entering the contest for his first time and Zach Lavine from the Minnesota Timberwolves who was going for his 2nd nba slam dunk contest trophy. Both of these players made history this year making it the best dunk contest since 1984. Even though they both came to the table and gave it all they had Zach Lavine came out on top winning his 2nd trophy.
Lets not forget about the skills challenge. Dribbling through obstacles and hitting 3 pointers aren’t always easy but taking home the win Karl Anthony Davis freshman from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Stephen curry and his teammate Klay Thompson both entered in the 3 point contest. Two of the best shooters in the NBA. Everyone expecting Stephen Curry to come out with the win but shockingly his teammate Klay Thompson coming through with the win. Beating Curry by 7 points.
At the end of all the competing and hype. It all comes down to NBA allstars having fun and enjoying the game they love.
