Varsity Boy’s Basketball Starts Off Season Right
More stories from Griffin Gonterman
As a new basketball season has dawned on us, the boys team has won their first matchup on the road against the Columbia Eagles, 64-50.
The Senators took the driver’s seat going into to halftime up 28-24 and never looked back. They would stretch the lead to 15 points by the end of the third quarter, thanks to their superb defense.
Senior Maurice Anderson led the Senators with 14 points. There was an all-around good performance from the starters and the bench players, something every coach loves to see. Senior JP Fletcher and Sophomore Malik Tyson both ended with 9 points, and Junior AJ Horton with 8 points.
The Senators next game will be their first home game of the season against Huntsville High School, today.
