SHS Top 10 Foods

SHS speaks about their favorite food!

Don’t know what to eat? Here are the top 10 most popular foods according to the Sparkman student body.

  1. Takis. Takis are the number one snack to get from the vending machine. They are a popular snack that students eat between classes or at lunch. They are spicy with a nice crunch from the chip. Many students recommend buying them from the vending machines around campus.

2. Wings. Wings are the second most favorite food to eat, specifically the flat ones with BBQ sauce or hot sauce.

“The breading is always crisp, it’s never too soggy. They always give you good chicken. The chicken isn’t slimy or dated. They always cook the chicken to

perfection,” sophomore Jaidyn Brown said.

3. French toast sticks. French toast sticks are just the perfect sweetness in the morning. When they are fresh out of the oven, they can just put you in a good mood to start your day.

“I love the french toast sticks for breakfast They’re soft and warm with syrup. I get two syrups for four sticks. That’s how much I love them,” senior Jon Rozier said.

4. Big Daddy pizza. Big Daddy pizza is a regular at Sparkman high lunch. It is a regular, but it’s one of the best lunches you can get.

”It’s so good, the crust is perfect. The cheese is freshly melted, the pepperonis are real, they’re not fake. It’s a big slice. It’s always warm,” Brown said.

5. Chicken salads. Many students get salads as a healthy alternative for lunch, and it has protein too.

“It be hitting like a ‘Zalad’,” Rozier said.

6. Ms Vickie’s jalapeno and sea salt chips. There are loads of options in the vending machines when they are full. Once they are restocked the first to go is Ms. Vickie’s chips. All the students love them.

“They have the perfect amount of crunch and seasoning with each chip,” Rozier said.

7. Honeybun. They are a quick sweet treat to eat between classes or after lunch, and they are always tasty.

“In elementary school, I would always get off the bus and get that exact honey bun from my grandma. So it always reminds me of when I was younger,” senior Reagan Bellmon said.

8. The Fritters. You can get the fritters from the Big Back Shack. According to Rozier, the apple fritters are the best, but both the strawberry and the cinnamon fritters are great options.

9. Chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate chip cookies are Coach Smith’s favorite snack to get, especially when they are warm. The chocolate chip cookies are sweet, warm and gooey. They always come in a pack of three, but sometimes if you’re lucky you can get a fourth one.

10. Chicken bites. Chicken bites are just like chicken nuggets and who doesn’t like chicken nuggets? Sparkman doesn’t serve them that often but when they do, students are jumping for joy.

“Let me put you on. You get the mashed potatoes and gravy then you get a roll. Poke a hole in the roll to put two chicken bits in it, then put the mashed potatoes and gravy on top. That is the best lunch to eat,” Rozier said.

Overall Sparkman has a variety of food for students to pick, and there is something for everyone. The Crimson Crier would like to thank all of our great cafeteria workers who cook and provide such great meals for all the students and staff members to enjoy.
