Care packages
March 2, 2016
Soldiers spend all of their time fighting for our country, it is only fight to show our gratitude.
Student 2 Student is taking action and sending care packages to soldiers overseas for Easter. Since most students in the organization come from military families, they know how it is to not be with the ones they love on the holidays.
“I felt only that it was right to send them love overseas.” junior Keiara Lawson said.
The group is looking to send boxes filled with can food, wet wipes, crossword puzzles, anything small and convenient, like toothbrush and toothpaste. S2S hopes to send these boxes to the soldiers March 11 and could use all of the help they can get.
“We wanted to start servicing our community and what better way than to honor our soldiers,” sponsor Christopher Bowden said.
S2S is also sending hand-made cards to the soldiers. Sponsors are hoping that the making of this project will give the soldiers something to look forward to and the students a sense of appreciation for others.
Anyone is welcome to help in the making of this project. Whether you just want to help or would like to become a part, of the organization called S2S. Talk to counselor Donna Holcomb or a current S2S member.
“We gotta start with them since our freedom starts with them,” Bowden said.
