JROTC carries competition
The JROTC attended the Annual Raider Challenge held at the University of North Alabama over the weekend of April 23-25. Two teams of eight were sent to compete in 10 events set up to test the young cadets on mental and physical levels. The teams that performed each event in the fastest time possible with the least amount of penalties took home first. The eight events that were won are as follows:
• First place was won in the Mine Field competition.
• First place was won in the Commander’s Challenge.
• First place was won in the Military Knowledge Test, with the two teams going against each other as the final two competing.
• First place was won in the Obstacle Course competition.
• First place was won in the Commander’s Rescue.
• First place was won in the Rope Bridge challenge.
• First place was won in the JROTC 100 Anniversary 5k Run by Cadet Capt. Alex Hendrix.
• First place was won in the Fitness Test/Sit-ups Competition by Team One having 1,385 sit-ups. Team Two won second place with 1,217 sit-ups. (Second place was not awarded)
