TOP 10: Things to do on St. Patrick’s Day

  1. Every year one of our local radio stations, 104.3 WZYP, does a hide- and- seek event with blarney stones hidden all throughout the Tennessee Valley! If you find one of these green rocks, you have a chance to win awesome prizes like a PS5, a chrome book, movie passes to Madison Square 12, Point Mallard season passes, and many more! Tune into the radio station, or look on their Facebook page to find out where they are hiding blarney stones and you could be their next winner. If you don’t want to get out of the house, or you are in quarantine, you can qualify for a chance to win a blarney stone sent to your house and you can redeem the stone for a chance to win one of the prizes as mentioned before. The contest ends on March 18th so start your search now!
  2. You and your friends can have a bake off- with a Saint Patrick’s Day theme! There are videos on Tik Tok of friends video chatting while having a bake-off and whoever’s cake looks most like their reference photo, wins. It’s a fun way to get creative and hang out with friends, even while distancing and staying safe.
  3. Have a bowl of Lucky Charms. That’s it. It’s a simple idea but you can still celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day by simply eating a bowl of cereal.
  4. Print out some coloring pages or activity sheets with a Saint Patrick’s Day theme. Coloring is always something fun you can do. No matter what age, coloring can be a fun distraction from school or work. Make it a bonding experience with your younger or even older siblings. If a family member has moved away, you could always video chat and color something together.
  5. Research Saint Patrick and learn what he accomplished and his significance. You could add it to your list of fun facts that you could have for a trivia game.
  6. Do some online shopping! Some stores like Sephora, Michaels, Ulta, Casper Mattresses, Kohl’s, Happy Socks, and so much more! You could also check the spam folder in your email to look for new deals happening soon.
  7. Try a green inspired makeup look! It’s fun to find new makeup styles for different occasions, or maybe you’re just bored and want something to do, experimenting and creating your own Saint Patrick’s Day themed makeup look can be a fun and creative way to spend your time.
  8. Catch a leprechaun. It’s Saint Patrick’s Day! There had to be a leprechaun somewhere. Drive around town until you find someone dressed as a leprechaun.
  9. Watch a virtual Saint Patrick’s Day parade on TV. If you are not able to go to a parade because of quarantine, this is the perfect way to still feel involved in all the fun.
  10. Hang out with family for the day! Try to stay off of your phone and spend as much time with family as you can. Even if it is your younger brother or sister, spend some time with them. Go play outside or ride your bikes together. Go to the gas station and get some candy. Every day is a good excuse to be around family.
