Junior Speaks About Season
CC: How are you enjoying baseball right now??
Junior Chris Sims- I’m enjoying baseball a lot right now
CC: What positions do you play and which is your favorite?
Sims: I play left field and center field, but my favorite position is center field.
CC: How long have you been playing baseball?
Sims: I’ve been playing baseball since I was 4 years old.
CC: Do you feel like this past basketball season has prepared you in any way for this upcoming season and how?
Sims: Yes, I do feel like basketball season has prepared me for this upcoming baseball season because I don’t have to worry about being out of shape going into the baseball season, I’m already playing a sport that’s a little more active than baseball so the transition is smooth.
CC: What’s your favorite thing about baseball and why?
Sims: I don’t really have a favorite thing about baseball, it’s really every aspect of the game like making a diving catch, getting a base hit, and stealing a base.
CC: What’s your least favorite thing about baseball and why?
Sims: My least favorite thing about baseball is striking out or getting a hard hit, but it’s straight to somebody.
CC: How do you train to hone your skills before the season?
Sims: My prep/training for baseball is going to the field at least 4-5 days a week to the batting cages and my dad hits me fly balls. Also I lift weights everyday to get stronger and faster.
CC: What are you most excited about this upcoming season?
Sims: What I’m most excited about this upcoming season is our team that we’re going to have this season because we have a lot of talent, and we have a chance to do big things like winning a state championship.
CC: What are your personal goals for the season?
Sims: My personal goals for this season is to at least get 25-30 hits and 15-20 stolen bases.
CC: What are some team goals you guys have for this season?
Sims: Some team goals are to win 10 or more games this season and of course win a state championship.
